Bring Class to Life with NBC Learn!

August 26, 2011

After piloting NBC Learn throughout the summer, the college has subscribed to this terrific video resource for the coming year.  Take advantage of over 12,000 digitized stories from the NBC Learn archives that date back to the 1920s.  The educational arm of NBC News, NBC Learn is dedicated to making these historic stories, images, and primary source documents available on-demand to teachers and students.  Find a variety of topics that include government and politics, science, psychology, economics, writing and journalism, history, education; explore the website to see topics you can use in your classes.

In addition to the short videos, generally under 6 minutes, you’ll find cue cards that offer a full transcript and bibliography.  Users can create personal play lists and annotate each resource with their own notes.  Show videos to bring relevance to your classes, and encourage your students to access them for presentations and sources for research.  If you want to create playlists, simply create an account first.

Use the NBC Learn link under College Resources & Information in D2L to access this vast resource.
