Students building table

The big blue trainer began as an idea in 2008.  Large scrap metal frames found their way to the industrial maintenance shop, and Jason Kefover decided to build a trainer out of them that would allow the IMT students to actually build machines and troubleshoot them.  In 2009 Jason did some consulting work for a company in Charlotte; its lab housed two T-slot tables.  He modified his existing rough designs based on what he saw in this company’s lab.  From there, it was a matter of fabrication…and some redesign.  Learn more about the project and hear student feedback in the accompanying video.
